Breather

Yesterday I (Jasmine) had the opportunity to enjoy a Breather room here in NYC for an hour. My friend had a promo code that allowed anyone that used it to get a free hour and after the rocky week I had, I had to take advantage of it.

Breather is a service that rents out beautifully decorated rooms around the city (New York, San Francisco and Montreal for now) for your relaxation and pleasure. You can use them to take a nap, meditate, do yoga, read a magazine, have a business meeting, work on a project, down time between appointments…the list is endless. I chose one near Rockefeller Center with an awesome view. Originally, my plan was to maybe go and hop on my tablet and maybe do some writing. I was pleasantly surprised by the reading selection and decided to just relax on the couch and read what they had to offer. I also ate about 1,000 tootsie rolls, which felt so delightfully indulgent.

The room had a table with four chairs, a white board with markers and eraser, a notebook with plain paper and pencils with a hand pencil sharpener, a couch, a chevron ottoman, chair, mirror, yoga mat and various reading materials. And the tootsie rolls, don’t forget the tootsie rolls. It was so nice to get away and to feel off the grid for just an hour and I walked out feeling invigorated and excited about the rest of the summer and the rest of the year!

I even had an awesome idea for a Marielle|Ejiama project…going to keep it under wraps for now, but I can’t wait to unveil it in a few months.

I strongly recommend trying Breather for the next time you’re having a crazy week, or even an awesome week, and just need a…breather (couldn’t resist).
